TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT) is a unique high-performance development and competition-oriented company based in Jyväskylä, Finland.
TGR-WRT is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Toyota Motor Corporation and is the home of TOYOTA’s World Rally Championship works team as well as its customer motorsport rally operations.
TGR-WRT embodies Toyota’s commitment and philosophy of “roads build people, and people build cars” to make ever-better cars through motorsport. By participating in the WRC, Toyota has broadened its knowledge by stepping out of its comfort zone to improve its road cars.
All is for making ever-better cars.
True to this philosophy, which has remained unchanged for more than 60 years, we continue to push the limits for better.
Our mission
At TGR-WRT, our mission is to gather knowledge and experience of the world’s vastly different roads with the aim of helping to make ever-better cars for everyday life. The WRC is the ideal arena for this, enabling us to hone our cars through competition on all kinds of roads around the world to further promote making ever-better motorsports-bred cars.
Alongside this, competing in the WRC increases awareness and value of the Toyota and GR brands, and conveys the excitement of driving to Toyota’s customers and fans, sharing the company’s passion with them. Additionally, we are striving to create and support world-class athletes, pass motorsport on to future generations with the most sustainable approach, and support the global rally scene through both engineering and marketing.
Our vision
We want to be a responsible corporate citizen and support improved social, economic and environmental outcomes for our community. We aim to achieve this by opening the door to people with a passion for working towards the future of motorsport, and through our commitment to promoting and developing quality employment, to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and to improving society through sustainable innovation.
We want to be a model for others when it comes to emissions reduction and environmental responsibility in motorsport and wider industry. We are constantly improving the way we design our cars to prioritise reusage of parts and materials, and are always trying to find ways to make future vehicles that are even cleaner and more efficient. We envisage a future society where we can participate and enjoy motorsport in a way that excites all of the senses and causes no long-term harm.
Our values
Our core values are to be a good neighbour and improve the lives of those around us. Teamwork is also central to all that we do, not only the way we work closely together as colleagues but also with our suppliers and partners. The most important ingredient in creating a winning vehicle is to have a group of people with the same goal who all find joy in what they do. We want to show the world a team coming together under Toyota’s ‘I love cars!’ spirit as we work diligently towards our goals.
We also embrace the spirit of Kaizen in our continuous development and improvement to make ever-better cars. Feedback from competition means better technology, better functionality, and cars that are ultimately more user-friendly, more fun to drive but also more secure.
