For the victory of global rally customers

The GR Yaris Rally2 is the first car designed and built by TGR-WRT for the purpose of customer rallying.

We set out to create a Rally2 car in line with our philosophy of using the knowledge gained through competing in WRC to make ever-better cars and help develop sustainable motorsport at all levels. It represents a new challenge for us, but one that allows us to share our knowledge and our passion for rallying with a wider range of drivers.

Toyota has a great heritage in rallying and there are a lot of people who want to drive a Toyota and Rally2 is a great class for customers where you can have professionals, amateurs, all kinds of ages from the very young to a very high age. There has been a big demand [for a Toyota Rally2 car] and finally we can offer a product for those people who want to drive and enjoy our cars.

Jari-Matti Latvala, TGR-WRT Team Principal

The GR Yaris Rally2 is based upon the highly successful all-wheel drive production sports car and also incorporates knowledge gained from our multiple world title-winning programmes with both the GR Yaris Rally1 and Yaris World Rally Car.

During its initial development phase that was concluded at the end of 2023, the GR Yaris Rally2 underwent more than 13,000 kilometres of development running across all kinds of conditions, on gravel, asphalt and snow-covered roads. During this time the key goals were for reliability and performance, and the car exceeded our expectations on both fronts.

A wide range of drivers got behind the wheel during the development process, from leading TGR-WRT stars such as Kalle Rovanperä and Elfyn Evans, to highly experienced test drivers like Juho Hänninen and proven national champions like Norihiko Katsuta among others. This has helped us develop a car that will not only be fast and reliable, but also well-balanced and rewarding to drive.

Homologated from January 2024

The GR Yaris Rally2 is eligible to compete in WRC2, the ERC and numerous other regional and national championships across the globe. Constant feedback from customers will help our engineers to make continuous improvements for an ever-better Rally2 car.
